Fresh goats’ milk is a wholesome alternative to cows' milk and can be used in exactly the same way.  A wide range of dairy produce made from goats' milk is available from UK food shops.

At the Lubborn Creamery we specialise in making a continental style of cheese and we use fresh, quality goats' milk to make the Capricorn Range.  Goats' milk cheeses are characteristically very white in appearance, this is because the milk contains virtually no carotene.

Find out Capricorn Somerset Goats Cheese nutritional qualities   Goats' milk is very easily digested and is an excellent source of good quality proteins. It is lower in cholesterol than cows' milk and is just as rich in calcium (McCance & Widdowson 1991). As for the vitamin content, although low in folic acid and vitamin E, this is compensated for with a wealth of B vitamins – notably B3, which are important for good cell functioning. The British Cheese Board advises that cheese is good for your teeth, skin, eyes and bones and can even aid a good night’s sleep! For those consumers who suffer an intolerance to cows' milk then goats' cheese can be a good alternative.
